AN ALTERNATIVE NIGHT OUT IN THE CITY.
Junkyard Golf is the ‘adult’ mini golf pop up that is now permanently located just off Brick Lane. This place combines 4 mini golf courses, booze and loud music to give Londoners an alternative night out in the city.

The set-up of this place is definitely trying to cater to your inner child, it has a very rustic and relaxed atmosphere. The four 9-hole courses (randomly named Bozo, Bruce, Gary and Pablo) have a mixture of well-designed holes and some that are more rough around the edges.
If you’re coming here solely for the golf then you are in the wrong place. If you’re out to have a few drinks and mess around with your mates then this is the place for you. There are multiple bars situated throughout the premise, which is a big plus when you are waiting for the group in front of you to complete the hole.
“NOSTALGIC SWEETS FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD”
Our group ended up doing forfeit shots at each bar which livened up the course. We also sampled some of the playful cocktails (£7.50 each) at Junkyard Golf. They all seem to come with some nostalgic sweets from your childhood. My favourite was the Welcome To Jamrock which came with a jammy dodger nestled on top.

The tickets for Junkyard Golf are £9.50 off peak and £11.50 peak per person and booking in advanced is recommended. During peak times this place can get busy so be prepared to queue at some stage, I’d recommend having a drink in hand at this point. When we arrived the course we had booked already had a long wait, but the staff were pretty accommodating and let us do one of the other courses which wasn’t as busy.

Another tip would be that the venue can get very hot on a warm summers day. All the courses are in an unventilated basement so bear this in mind when booking. Also, if you’re not based in London, then Junkyard Golf also has sites in Manchester and Oxford for you to check out.
Junkyard Golf is a fun night out and the little hints like the sweets, paper cups, big space and old music do remind you of childhood parties. And just like those parties your friends are as important as the activity itself, so I would recommend this place for groups of 4 or more to really make the most of the setting.
