BEST COCKTAIL BAR IN EDINBURGH.
From the name you might be able to tell that this is one of the quirkiest cocktail bars you may ever visit. Said to have been set up by ‘Grandpa Walt, Panda & his Sons Rupert and cheeky wee Benson’ this bar certainly plays up to the inventiveness of the creators.
At a time when clandestine speakeasy’s are the trend, this hidden bar set below a mock barber shop truly stands out from the rest. Once you have found the entrance and entered the bar you will be hit by the vintage décor and eccentric designs. The irregular seating which includes barber chairs only adds to the charm of this place.

Once seated we were provided complimentary popcorn, as you know anything complimentary is always a nice touch and it seemed to be unlimited too. The cocktails matched the 5-star atmosphere with the prices ranging between £8-10 per cocktail. We sampled several different cocktails but for me, the highlight was the Birdcage – Johnnie Walker Gold Reserve Whisky, rhubarb and lemongrass shrub, Aperol, Angostura bitters, smoked with a Cinnamon & Clove mix (£9.00). Aside from being a great tasting cocktail, slightly on the stronger side being my taste, the theatrical presentation also impressed. I won’t spoil the surprise but would recommend ordering when you do visit this den of libations.

I will leave it on the note that if you are planning a trip up to Edinburgh, then this would be my recommended bar to visit. And if I lived nearby this would certainly be one of the drinking haunts I would regularly visit.
If I was pushed to vote for the best cocktail bar in Edinburgh then Panda & Sons is the bar that I would endorse. For me that says it all.
