AMAZING TASTING MENU.
From the moment I walked into Picture Marylebone, I could tell this was a restaurant that was well organised and genuinely trying to cater to the wants of the customer. Although the Marylebone branch of Picture has only been open for 12 months, you can definitely feel the experience and knowledge of the trio of owners shining through in terms of the service, the design and the value for money they offer.

So to the food. We sampled their very well priced six-course tasting menu (£45pp). The highlights for me was the lightly smoked pork with watermelon, fermented cabbage and pickled mushrooms – I thought this was a very clever dish with the succulent pork being complimented perfectly by the sweet watermelon and sharpness of the mushrooms.

The other dish on this amazing tasting menu that stood out was the lamb neck, crisp sweetbreads and sprouting broccoli. The plate looked so bright and fresh that I couldn’t wait to dig in. I must admit that I do have a soft spot for lamb neck, as it was a cheap cut of meat that I enjoyed my mother cook for the family throughout my childhood. I can certainly say that at Picture Marylebone they have taken one of my favourites to new heights.
Aside from the quality service and outstanding food, another aspect I appreciated was the ability to be able to have a conversation with my girlfriend. That statement may sound odd, but eating out is something that is part of my lifestyle, whether that be through work or with friends & family. Often places I go can have too much ‘atmosphere’ when all I want to do is have some good food and good conversation with the people I’m with. The calm and crisp surrounding at Picture definitely allows you to do that.
I would highly recommend this as a great place to go when you’re looking to impress without breaking the bank.
